what I won't be buying (comics for August)

Advanced solicitations for some publishers' August offerings are on-line in various places.
Here's what I may be reading if I have some trade or Aden's also curious in buying.

DC

FINAL CRISIS: LEGION OF THREE WORLDS #1, DC UNIVERSE: LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT #1, FINAL CRISIS: SUPERMAN BEYOND #1 - oy.. Final Crisis overload (and these are just the ones I'm interested in)

AMBUSH BUG YEAR NONE #2, DC UNIVERSE SPECIAL: AMBUSH BUG #1 - I'm very. very. very happy, unless I'm all outta trade, at which point I'm very. very. very sad.

BATMAN #680, DETECTIVE COMICS #847, NIGHTWING #147, ROBIN #177 - since Aden is already getting 'Tec, Nightwing and Robin, I convinced her to get Batman too :)

SUPERMAN #679, ACTION COMICS #868 - Geoff Johns and James Robinson have big plans for the Big Blue Boyscout.

THE FLASH #243 - Aden hasn't given up on the Flash yet, therefore I won't either.

UNCLE SAM AND THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS: BRAVE NEW WORLD TP - I really enjoyed the first Uncle Sam mini-series so hopefully this one's good too. I'll wait until '09 to pick it up though.

BILLY BATSON AND THE MAGIC OF SHAZAM! #2 - for the little guy. Captain Marvel should ALWAYS be a kids book.

EX MACHINA #39 - I've not read an issue since 35 and I miss it terribly.

THE X-FILES SPECIAL #0 - ach... the knee-jerk geek reaction had me desperately wanting this book. Now, I know I don't need it. I have 50 or so X-Files comics at home which I've not read in years. Do I need another one that badly?

AIR #1 - New Vertigo series, sounds interesting.

100 BULLETS #94 - oh sure, NOW they get it out monthly. Once it closes with issue 100, I think I'll start back at the beginning and re-read my way through to the end.

GOLLY #1 - Phil Hester is a really enjoyable writer so this gets a not (but I'm not getting Firebreather or his Top Cow stuff).

A RED MASS FOR MARS #3 (of 4) - issue one is still not out.. but Hickman's past efforts make this further must-reading.

WAR HEROES #3 - Mark Millar: no. Tony Harris: yes. Conflicted.

Marvel

MARVEL 1985 #4 (of 6) - Mark Millar: no. Tommy Lee Edwards: yes. Conflicted.

ASTONISHING X-MEN #26 - Ellis. X-Men. Okay.

X-FACTOR SPECIAL: LAYLA MILLER ONE-SHOT - She knows stuff. Like, she knows we're gonna get this comic.

CAPTAIN AMERICA #41 - Just read the latest which Aden got yesterday: awesome, absolutely.

X-FACTOR #34, CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND MI:13 #4, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #4, NOVA #16 - everything's secret invasion tie-ins over at Marvel this month. Bleh.

IMMORTAL IRON FIST VOL. 2: THE SEVEN CAPITAL CITIES OF HEAVEN TPB - that's all for Brubaker and Fractions Iron Fist, and thusly that's all I need, thanks.

SHE-HULK VOL. 6: JADED TPB - it won't be Dan Slott's She-Hulk but I'm curious as to how Peter David departs from the emerald titan we knew.
